Assess change before editing the issued record.
Different plant, sequence, personnel, site conditions, substances, interfaces or controls can affect whether the current RAMS remains suitable. That judgement remains with the competent dutyholder; HoldPoint does not infer from an edit that a field change is safe.
When the change requires a new RAMS revision, an authorised user can create a linked draft from the issued record. The issued predecessor is not rewritten by that action.
A revision starts from history; it does not replace history.
A new draft may begin from the current issue so the team does not rebuild unaffected content. It receives its own revision identity and moves through review against a known baseline. Earlier findings, approvals and signatures remain bound to the version they concerned.
Preserve both truths.
The issued predecessor keeps its lifecycle history while the replacement draft moves through its own governance workflow.
Approval and issue answer different questions.
Approval records a human decision against the RAMS. Final signature records the authorised signer and version. Issue then changes the governed lifecycle state to issued.
Keeping the gates separate prevents approval from being presented as issue. These actions are server-confirmed and recorded against the tenant-scoped RAMS; AI cannot perform them.
Issuing a linked replacement supersedes its predecessor.
When a linked replacement is finalised and issued, HoldPoint moves the previously issued RAMS to the superseded lifecycle state. The predecessor and successor remain separate records with their own versions and audit histories.
Issue state is not field assurance.
The current product records governed lifecycle state. It does not claim named-recipient acknowledgement or offline field-copy tracking. Supervisors and dutyholders still control briefing, understanding and the work as carried out.
The audit trail connects the revision, review, approval, signature, issue and supersession events that HoldPoint records. It does not replace active site change control.
